Welcome to Puerto Rico's El Yunque .com Travel Website! The Taino Indians carved these petroglyphs. They lived on 'Boricua' fairly peacefully until Ponce de Leon, a Spanish Conquistador, arrived to settle the island in 1503. |
 No one has been able to explain how the Taino Indians made these petroglyphs. The grooves in the solid granite boulders are 1/2 inch deep. these particular petroglyphs are on the Rio Blanco, near Naguabo, off Road # 191. |
